Chris Ozley

Indoor Percussion Composer

Chris Ozley is joining Countermotion as a percussion staff writer and arranger. Before coming on board, he served as a batterie tech for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (Dubuque, Iowa), Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps (Jacksonville, AL) and the CorpsVets Drum and Bugle Corps (Rockmart, GA). Additionally, he has taught and arranged for Jacksonville State University, Central-Carroll High School and many other high schools in Alabama and Georgia. Chris currently teaches the nationally acclaimed Bailey Middle School percussion studio located in Austin, TX. The Bailey Middle School Wind Ensemble (directed by Bill Haehnel) was one of only two middle school bands nationwide asked to perform at the 2007 Bands of America National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, IN.

In addition to teaching, Chris has had the privilege of performing with several outstanding organizations including the JSU Marching Southerners, the JSU PAS Indoor Line, Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps, and the DCA 2006 I & E World Champion Mallet Ensemble.

Chris graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Music Education. He currently resides in Austin, TX with his beautiful wife, Amanda and mini schnauzer, Reggie.
